ROD BALL RESUME
Rod Ball Bio
A native of Miami, Florida, Rod began his professional acting career while in high school. He saw a notice in the newspaper seeking “extras” for “Lenny”, a biopic of comedian Lenny Bruce, directed by Bob Fosse and starting Dustin Hoffman in the title role.
That led to “background artist” parts in numerous films until Rod caught his first break when he was cast as a Coast Guard CPO in “The Island”, starring Michael Caine. That film enabled Rod to join the Screen Actors Guild.
Then, another break, as Rod was selected by Bob Clark to play Steve (one of the lusty teenagers) in “Porky’s” which became a cult hit and spawned a sequel in which Rod reprised his role.
That success prompted a move to Los Angeles where Rod spent five years working and honing his craft. Study with Stella Adler, Kenneth McMillan and others and work in a range of film and TV projects (see resume to the left) solidified his career and enabled Rod to book jobs though agents in several states.
Rod now spends the bulk of his time in his beloved hometown with his family. He enjoys traveling, both for work and, to exotic locations for pleasure. When not working, he stays active with SCUBA, the occasional game of bocce ball and spectator sports.
