There are a number of reasons to have your own web page and/or e-mail address (even if it is an e-mail alias in addition to the e-mail address you have with your Internet Service Provider). With an e-mail alias (e.g. FloridaActor@juno.com), you can forward your mail to a new Internet Service Provider if you ever change ISPs, without losing contact with everyone to whom you have given your address.
